Finishing school soon, or finished recently? Let us prepare you for your dream job!
SLES is a new support service for year 12 school leavers that is designed to
specifically assist you and ease the transition from school into professional
employment, regardless of your particular circumstances
Our SLES service goes deeper than simply finding a person a job. It’s about laying
the foundation a young person will need to engage with employment now, and
into their future and building their capacity to live an independent life.
Explore your interests and talents
Helping you prepare for work
Assisting you in finding job opportunities
Build your communication skills
Showing you how to use transport options
Explain your responsibilities at work
We go beyond the standard SLES service. While you can still get all of the above,
we also have a new initiative called team 13. As part of this we design an
individual training program for each participant for the year, that will help team
members achieve their goals.
Our SLES is highly personalised to every individual because no two people are the same
Start turning your employment dreams into your reality based on YOUR abilities.
Personalised Programs
The Kukoon Team 13 SLES initiative is personalised for each team member. We work closely with you and your support team to develop a program that supports you in your journey towards employment.
Unlike group-based SLES programs that often fall short in addressing the unique needs of individual participants, Team 13 offers ongoing support and guidance throughout the program to ensure that you stay on track and achieve your goals.
No boring group classes
No boring group classes
Unlike group-based SLES programs that often fall short in addressing the unique needs of individual participants, our individualised programs offer ongoing support and guidance throughout the program to ensure that they stay on track and achieve their goals.
Real dedication to your independence
We understand that employment is not just about finding a job but also about building a career, being part of a team, and we are committed to supporting you in achieving your long-term independence goals.
NDIS SLES should not be delivered as a program or take a one-size-fits-all approach. These supports are person-centred, individually tailored, strategic and planned so participants of varying skills and needs can reach their employment goals. These supports are individualised, with a strong emphasis on trying and testing through work experience in a range of settings.
School leaver employment supports are available to NDIS participants in their final year of school and those who have recently left school (generally up to age 22).
The NDIS funds support for participants to help them prepare for work, find a job, and have ongoing supports when at work. Funding is based on the participant’s employment goals, individual circumstances and reports/assessments provided during the planning conversation.
If a student with a disability is leaving school and is not a NDIS participant, they need to:
– meet NDIS eligibility criteria
– complete and submit an access request.
Complete this form and we will contact you the next business day to get started.
